Takeaway Questions for Reflection:
Why was Joshua so full of faith that God was going to give Israel the Promised Land?
Why did Joshua send out only two unknown spies (in the 2nd expedition) while Moses was told to send out 12 tribal chiefs in the first expedition?
Was there a time when you exhibited faith like Joshua or perhaps failed to do so? Tell the story to one another. How did God respond to what you have done or failed to do?
Do you recall people you have met or in your own community that are largely “unknown” but faithful? How have their faithfulness impact the people / you?
Before hearing the sermon, would you expect to find faith and the glory of God in the red-light districts of Singapore? Why or why not?
What do you think is God’s promise / will for your life? How has that been going?
The seed planted in the 1980s by Faith Methodist Church (FMC) as a grassroots ministry bore fruit as a church 25 years later. Though the growing process, from taking roots to bearing fruits, had not been smooth and easy, God had been faithful.
