God has given Agape Methodist Church a vision to reach out to our Jurong community with acts of love and compassion. Besides partnering Lakeside Family Centre to serve the needy in our community, we are also reaching out to those in need through our AgapeCare Ministry, a caregiving arm of our community outreach effort. The recently launched 'Adopt-a-Family' Scheme, an initiative by the AgapeCare Ministry, aims to help provide for the needy families' daily necessities.

Our past activities organised for the community include health talks, bus rides to see the Christmas Light-up at Orchard Road, day trips into Malaysia and bowling games.

One of the major outreach efforts carried out was a special community blessing event called the 100% Day where donated items from church members and other people were given away free to the needy families in our Taman Jurong community. Another set of recipients of this blessing was the Lakeside Family Centre needy families as well. Additional food packs were distributed to the families that did not or could not come for our 100% Day. It was indeed a joy to let them know that we had missed them that day but we did not forget them.

A follow-through on this 100% Day is our 100% Shop. Our aim is to continue to bless the needy families with a constant flow of items. This is done by inviting the residents to drop in at the 100% Shop every Sunday to pick out any five items of their preference.

The needs of the community are always there. But we can make a BIG difference in their lives!
